The jumping season has officially begun

According to The Sun: The jumping season has finally begun, and bookmakers have already lowered the odds on star Willie Mullins.

The owner of Copycat De Borde, Charlie McCarthy, has practically confirmed that his outstanding Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner will be the main goal of the season for the Arkle.

The five-year-old gelding has impressed everyone by winning at Cheltenham but suffered a setback at the Punchestown festival, where his odds were 30-100.

That was his only defeat in five races, which followed two consecutive victories in a Grade 1 by a margin of 15 lengths.

Mullins has already mentioned the possibility of staying with the obstacles after his victory at the Supreme.

Charlie McCarthy noted in the popular X account Road To Cheltenham that 'it is more than likely' to be the Arkle goal.

“We will probably go to the Arkle, just imagine how wonderfully he won over the two miles,” he said.

“We always follow Willie’s advice, but he has always said that this is the type for jumps.”

Potential opponents in the Arkle

If Mullins, known for his unexpected plan changes, decides to participate in the Arkle, it could lead to serious competition with Nicky Henderson and his Lulamu.

Lulamu won at the Triumph, but later lost to the outsider Ponirios at 100-1, even though he looked like a potential winner.

He took revenge at the Punchestown festival and showed himself to be a star of the future.

Currently, Lulamu leads the bets for the next Arkle with odds of 4-1.

However, Copycat De Borde has seen the odds at several firms, including Paddy Power and Sky Bet, drop from 7 to 5-1.
