Career and Achievements

The fast bowler debuted during the opening Test of England's victorious tour of Australia, taking five wickets in the second innings.

In the Ashes series of 1970-71 under Ray Illingworth, he played in the first two drawn matches.

In January 1971, Shuttleworth became the first to bowled out an England wicket in One Day Internationals during his debut ODI at the Melbourne cricket ground.

“I just took it as another game..”

“We got criticism, but we were the first team since 1932 to win the Ashes in Australia.”

Unfortunately, Shuttleworth's international career was cut short due to injuries, although he was considered capable of achieving much more.

He participated in the tournament against Pakistan with the Commonwealth XI in 1967-68 under Ritchie Benaud.

His achievements in his sporting career, as well as his impact on subsequent generations of cricketers, will hardly be forgotten. Memories of his play and achievements will be preserved in the minds of fans and teammates.
