Fuel Cashback Reaches 2.3 Million Ukrainians: 15% Rebate on Diesel Announced.
Ukraine’s Fuel Cashback Program
According to Espreso.tv: To ease the burden on drivers amid rising oil product prices, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine launched a fuel cashback initiative on March 20, 2026. Within just two months, nearly 2.3 million Ukrainians took advantage of the program. The compensation rates are as follows:
- 15% on diesel
- 10% on gasoline
- 5% on liquefied gas
According to available data, 91% of participants are owners of budget-class vehicles. The program has partnered with more than 220 gas station operators, enabling drivers to receive their rebate directly at the pump. It is important to note that all cashback funds must be used by June 30, 2026, inclusive.
Fuel Prices and Social Impact
As of May 29, 2026, the average price of A-95 gasoline in Ukraine stands at 75.94 hryvnias per liter. “In just over two months of operation, 2.3 million Ukrainians have received cashback from the state,” stated Vitalii Kindrativ.
This initiative is designed to reduce the financial strain on motorists during a period of escalating fuel costs.
The launch of the fuel cashback program reflects the government’s effort to mitigate the adverse effects of rising petroleum prices, particularly for owners of lower-cost vehicles. Given that the majority of users fall into this category, the initiative is expected to have a significant social impact. The deadline of June 30, 2026, for using the compensation also underscores the need for drivers to manage their expenses wisely during this time.
