Compromise with Russia threatens Ukraine's independence — Stoltenberg.

Jens Stoltenberg, former Secretary General of NATO and Minister of Finance of Norway, expressed his concerns about the state of the Russian economy and the losses of the Russian military forces in Ukraine. According to him, the Kremlin's plans for a quick takeover of Ukraine have not been fully realized even in Donbas.

Stoltenberg notes that Russia began its invasion with the intention of capturing Kyiv within a few days and all of Ukraine within a week. However, after four years of war, Russia has still not been able to capture Donbas, even with the largest army in Europe.

In Stoltenberg's opinion, the losses of military forces along with sanctions and the economic crisis are undermining Russia. He emphasizes that now is precisely the best time to increase pressure on Putin's regime, as succumbing to the occupier's terms would mean a loss of independence for Ukraine.

However, Stoltenberg warns against deviating from the aggressor's targets, as Moscow's demands remain unchanged: a ban on Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration, disarmament of its forces, and cessation of Western military assistance.

'If Ukraine agrees to these terms, it will lose its independence,' Stoltenberg noted.
