Who is restricted from accessing Telegram? Explanation from the Center for Counteracting Disinformation.


The head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andrey Kovalenko, reported that the restrictions on the use of the Telegram messenger apply only to official devices of officials, military personnel, and critical infrastructure employees. He explained that government employees, military personnel, and critical infrastructure employees cannot use Telegram on their official computers.
Kovalenko emphasized that this decision does not apply to personal smartphones and allows government bodies, military formations, and other organizations to have official pages on Telegram.
At the meeting of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center, a decision was made to limit the use of Telegram in government bodies, military formations, and critical infrastructure facilities of Ukraine.
