Voluntary 'contract 18-24': how motivated citizens will be recruited into the army
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is introducing a voluntary 'contract 18-24' to attract citizens who are ready to defend Ukraine and undergo quality military training. According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, young people and women who wish to join the Defense Forces will be assigned to 'very powerful units'.
The process of filling out the contract involves submitting an application on the website 18-24.army.gov.ua or using the mobile app 'Reserve+'. Already six brigades have joined this project.
The Ministry of Defense also emphasizes that women can also join the Defense Forces. 'As for the positions: they are a shooter, senior shooter, sniper, sanitary shooter, assistant grenade launcher, grenade launcher, senior grenade launcher, scout, and senior scout,' Lazutkin said.
After the contract ends, the serviceman can continue their career or return to civilian life. Moreover, after fulfilling their duties, they will have the right to travel abroad for training or vacation.
From a financial perspective, the serviceman will receive a one-time financial assistance of 1 million UAH, which will be paid in three installments. In addition, they will receive a salary throughout their military service and can earn about 2 million UAH a year, depending on conditions and tasks.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced a voluntary project 'Contract 18-24' for citizens aged 18 to 24. The military department has already identified the brigades where one can serve.
