Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk defeated Polish player Katarzyna Kawa in the Billie Jean King Cup match. In the first set, Marta won with a score of 6:1, and in the second - 6:2.
The Billie Jean King Cup group competition is taking place in the Polish city of Radom on an indoor clay court. Today, the Ukrainian team plays against Poland, and tomorrow - against the Swiss team.
It is worth noting that the world’s second-ranked player Iga Swiatek declined to participate in the Billie Jean King Cup. She explained her decision by stating that she wants to focus on training and preparation.
Additionally, Switzerland's top player Belinda Bencic will miss the match against Ukraine.
