Euro to Reach a Record 50 Hryvnias in 2026: What Will Happen to Prices.
According to ТСН: In January 2026, the euro exchange rate reached a new record, exceeding the psychological barrier. It is expected that this upward trend will continue in the near future.
Predictions of Economists
Doctor of Economic Sciences Oleksiy Plotnikov noted that "everything will depend on many factors, including relations between the EU and the United States. However, there are currently no grounds to believe that the euro will rapidly depreciate." According to him, the exchange rate may fluctuate due to global misunderstandings, but since no escalations are currently observed, the forecast for the official exchange rate remains within the range of 49.90-50.20 UAH/euro.
Can Prices Rise?
Ukraine imports many goods from Europe, so consumer market prices depend on the euro exchange rate. Naturally, the higher the currency, the more expenses for people. But the economist assures that no significant price changes are expected in the near future, as products were brought in December at an exchange rate of 43 UAH/euro.
The impact of the euro exchange rate on prices will be gradual, with a delay of about several months.
In addition, it is reported that during the next week, from January 12 to 18, the demand for currency in Ukraine may slightly decrease, creating grounds for predicting the strengthening of the hryvnia.
Thus, further fluctuations in the euro exchange rate and their impact on the market will remain under close scrutiny. Economic experts continue to monitor global and regional changes that may affect the currency situation, as well as prices in the consumer market. The situation in financial markets is dynamic, and new challenges and opportunities for the Ukrainian economy may lie ahead.
