Legendary Ada Rogovtseva reacted to the scandal at the Karpenko-Kary University.

Ukrainian actress Ada Rogovtseva noted that the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts needs changes after the scandal involving lecturer Andriy Bilous, who is accused of sexual harassment. According to the actress, the educational institution should be a place for learning, not for supporting its employees.

“The Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and Television has long needed changes. I listened to the students. They are absolutely right. The educational institution is for learning, not for supporting the institution and its staff,” said Ada Rogovtseva.

According to Rogovtseva, theater, cinema, and television are applied synthetic arts that can only be taught by true professionals. If this does not happen, the question arises about the meaning of such an educational institution's existence.

“If this is not a hundred percent true, why does the institution exist? What are the children who came to obtain a complex applied profession spending 4-5 years of their lives on? Precious years when every hour of the day matters for skill acquisition, for attempts, for mistakes, for self-discovery and understanding of the world! I support the wonderful children who want to learn and be proud representatives of the theatrical school!” - the message states.

It later became known that an unknown girl accused the lecturer of the Kyiv National University of Ivan Karpenko-Kary and artistic director of the 'Young Theater' Andriy Bilous of sexual harassment. She claims that Bilous sent her photos of other students' intimate parts and asked her to do the same. The university announced that it had not received an official statement but had contacted the police.

The case was taken up by university graduate Valeriy Filipenko and former choreographer of the 'Young Theater' Lydia Soklakova.

Lecturer of the Kyiv National University of Karpenko-Kary and director of the 'Young Theater' Andriy Bilous was suspended from work due to accusations of sexual harassment and indecent messages to female students.
