Messi rejected a billion dollar contract from Saudi Arabia: details of the move to Miami.
Messi turned down the offer from Saudi Arabia
According to The Sun: Lionel Messi, eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, rejected an offer of one billion pounds to move to Saudi Arabia before joining Inter Miami. He became part of the team owned by David Beckham in the summer of 2023 after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.
Numerous clubs showed interest in signing the star footballer, including Al-Ittihad. The club's president, Anmar Al-Hailey, noted that the team was ready to offer Messi a huge contract.
'Our offer was extremely generous, and we hoped he would accept it,'said the president of Al-Ittihad.
Messi's refusal of such an attractive contract underscores his commitment to his career in the US, where he plans to continue developing his career in Major League Soccer. This move also speaks to greater sporting ambitions and a desire for a new challenge after a successful career in Europe.
