“I think she has an incredible opportunity.”
“She was phenomenal at the Euros, and I think a couple more years to really hone her talent will give us great potential.”
This came after the Lionesses defended their title by beating Spain at the Euros this year.
Ellen White, captain of the England team with 50 goals, pointed to the 19-year-old star Agyemang as a potential leader on the path to victory.
Agyemang, who scored two goals in four matches at the Euros, including crucial equalizers in the quarterfinals and semifinals, was recognized as the young player of the tournament.
Her successful performances contributed to her move from Arsenal to Brighton, where she was loaned last season to continue developing her skills.
“She has a great stature, excellent presence, and amazing technical abilities.”
“It’s very important to hone her talent at a steady pace.”
Ellen also emphasized the importance of gaining experience in the national league and on the international stage.
“She will once again go on loan to Brighton to get more playing time and experience in football.”
Ellen White was part of the England team that first became European champions in 2022. After retiring, she actively supports youth engagement in sports and football.
Last weekend, she attended the Más+ by Messi 1v1 World Crown tournament, where both women and men compete for the title of best player in the UK.
The winners of the men’s and women’s tournaments will have the chance to showcase their skills at the world final in Miami featuring football legend Lionel Messi.
“Many of us played in the streets, in local communities, playing football.”
“I believe this 1-on-1 format is incredibly exciting. It brings people together.”
Ellen emphasized that the Lionesses have great prospects transitioning to a 1-1 format but noted that she wouldn’t be successful in it herself.
“I would definitely support from the coaching bench.”
“I don’t think playing 1-on-1 is quite my style. I was more specialized in running and physical contact.”
Ellen also noted that the WSL and Premier League can learn from new sports like the 1-1 tournament.
“It’s important to think outside the box and consider ways to engage as many people in sports as possible, both men and women.”
“This 1-on-1 format is quite exciting. It’s fast and intense. It fosters community togetherness.”
