According to ТСН: A secret construction of a factory specializing in the production of artillery shells for Russia has begun in Belarus. The project, titled 'Site', could enhance the firepower capabilities of the aggressor in the context of the war against Ukraine.

According to Vladimir Zhigar, a representative of the Belarusian opposition group BELPOL, a large factory is being created in the country that will manufacture artillery and rocket ammunition for the needs of the Russian armed forces. The construction is taking place in a secret mode, with an emphasis on Soviet-standard ammunition, which will be used in the war against Ukraine.

Project Characteristics

It is known that the project, which started in November 2023, involves the organization of a complete production cycle of artillery and rocket caliber ammunition of 122 and 152 mm.

'The end product is aimed at export and use in the war against Ukraine,' Zhigar noted.

It is expected that the construction will be completed in December 2026, and the launch of the factory will significantly strengthen the material and technical capabilities of Russian aggression. This project was approved in a closed manner by the personal order of Belarusian self-proclaimed President Alexander Lukashenko. The operator is a specially created company 'Factory of Housing Products', founded by 'Volatavto' and the state enterprise 'Precision Electromechanics Plant', under the control of the Military-Industrial Committee of Belarus.

'We see this project as a tool for deeper involvement of Belarus in the war,' said the BELPOL representative.

Production Details

The production facilities are located in the Slutsk district of the Minsk region, on the territory of a former military arsenal near Pavlivka and Shishytsia. Previously, it was thought that there would be a military base here, but after examining the documentation, it turned out that this is actually an industrial facility.

'This is not a storage facility or a position area for missiles. This is an industrial site,' Zhigar emphasized.

Since Belarus does not have its own production of key components for explosives, the new factory will depend on external supplies. The main partners of the project are considered to be Russia and China.

'Russia provides the technological lines... China supplies the pouring equipment lines... Negotiations are also underway with Iran and Pakistan,' Zhigar reported.

Lukashenko had previously announced that the Russian missile system 'Oreshnik' is already in Belarus and ready for combat duty, integrated into the country's defense system.

This new factory appearing on the territory of Belarus is part of a broader plan for military cooperation between Minsk and Moscow. The involvement of foreign technologies and materials underscores the country's dependence on external factors in its military production. Observers note that these events could have serious implications for security in the region, particularly for Ukraine, which has already felt the effects of aggression from Russia.
