High-Level Meeting with Ukraine’s President
According to UATV: The leaders of France, the United Kingdom, and Germany are organizing a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to explore the potential for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelensky has proposed a face-to-face meeting to end the war and facilitate a prisoner exchange. This gathering of Western leaders could take place on Sunday in the UK.
Volodymyr Zelensky has sent an open letter to Putin offering to engage in talks. In his correspondence, the Ukrainian president suggested holding the meeting on neutral ground, such as Switzerland, Turkey, or an Arab nation. The letter was delivered to the Russian side through diplomatic channels. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha confirmed that Kyiv is now awaiting a response from the Kremlin.
Reactions to Zelensky’s Initiative
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Zelensky could meet with Putin in Moscow. French President Emmanuel Macron described Zelensky’s initiative as 'good' and called for direct negotiations.

U.S. President Donald Trump also backed the idea of a personal meeting between Zelensky and Putin, expressing satisfaction that the topic is being discussed.

According to The Guardian, Zelensky’s letter references significant Russian losses: 63% killed and 37% wounded. Commenting on the president’s initiative, Andrii Sybiha noted: “This open letter is a serious and meaningful proposal to end the war...” Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that “we must first find our bilateral answers to the questions at hand.”
Additionally, Anita Hipper, a representative of the European Union, stressed the desire for peace: “Ukraine wants peace, Europe wants peace.” This situation underscores the importance of diplomatic efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
