According to The Sun: Stan Moody achieved an impressive victory over Barry Hawkins in a 'freak performance' at the Wuhan Open, marking an important milestone in his career.
After overcoming his setback against Ding Junhui, the 18-year-old player reached the quarter-finals of a ranking snooker tournament for the first time this week in China.

Moody easily defeated world number 8 Barry Hawkins with a score of 5-0, scoring 466 points against his opponent's 39 points, 431 of which were unanswered. This is his 'best victory' to date.
The former world junior champion, dubbed the 'Luke Littler of snooker,' will face the number 1 and reigning champion Xiao Guodong in the next round.
Moody's comments on his game
Moody, who is ranked 61st in the world, commented:
“This is the biggest win of my career. I played very, very well. I was just in the zone.”
Stan added:
“I don’t know what happened, to be honest. I just potted everything. I hope the same will happen in the next match.”
He also noted that he is now taking more responsibility and feels more confident:
“This season I’m more relaxed, I’m enjoying the game, the feeling of competition under pressure.”
Moody emphasized that his performance was 'a bit of a freak performance,' and added:
“Today was a bit of a freak show. On another day, I might not have gotten the luck in one of the frames and wouldn’t have played as well.”
Other tournament results
In another game, Mark Williams defeated Mark Selby with a score of 5-3. Both players have seven world championship titles to their names. World number 1 Judd Trump also faced defeat, losing to Gary Wilson with a score of 4-5 in the last 16.
