Everyone has the right to respect. The Union of Cinematographers defends Kadochnikova

The National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine reacted to the scandal that arose after Larysa Kadochnikova refused to perform in Ukrainian at the award ceremony named after Serhiy Paradzhanov. According to the union, this incident is a 'sad incident'.

During the ceremony, the actress stated that she only plays in Ukrainian in the theater and can communicate in English. The union understands why these words caused a delay. They also note that the Russian language is almost not used in the House of Cinema.

The union calls for caution and asks not to consider the older generations of Ukrainian filmmakers, who predominantly communicate in Russian, as 'enemies', as their contribution to culture is extremely important.

The union emphasizes that the roles played by Kadochnikova will always be part of the history of Ukrainian cinema, and the actress deserves respect and forgiveness for her linguistic experiences. It is important to assess her contribution to culture from a historical perspective, rather than viewing this incident as a provocation.

It is worth noting that Kadochnikova still holds the title of 'People's Artist of Russia'. She believes this is not a problem, especially considering her contribution to theater and cinema.
