Manchester United signs Belgian goalkeeper Lammens for £17 million.
Lammens before moving to Manchester United for £17 million
According to The Sun: Lammens was removed from the Royal Antwerp squad before his move to Manchester United for £17 million.
The Belgian goalkeeper, 23, became a target for Ruben Amorim's team.
Senne Lammens was axed by Royal Antwerp ahead of a £17million move to Man United
Lammens, who played 63 times for his club but has yet to take the field for the Belgium national team, wants to join United and has already agreed on personal terms of the contract.
The Red Devils are currently discussing the transfer fee of £17 million.
And Lammens is set to undergo a medical at Old Trafford following his removal from Antwerp on Sunday.
The goalkeeper didn't even make it to the bench in his club's match against Mechelen, which they won 2-1.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Antwerp expects Lammens to join United imminently.
However, it remains unclear whether the goalkeeper will immediately secure a starting spot under Amorim.
The coach opted to use Altay Bayındır in United's defeat to Arsenal after Andre Onana missed the entire previous season due to injury.
It was expected that last year's first-choice goalkeeper would return in the game against Fulham today.
But he again remained on the bench, while Bayındır gained the advantage.
Previously, United were linked with Gianluigi Donnarumma after the Italian was removed from PSG.
It was known that he offered his services to United, but they rejected him due to high salary demands.
Currently, Donnarumma is nearing a move to rivals Manchester City.
This could pave the way for Ederson's transfer to Galatasaray and also bring bad news for James Trafford after his poor performance in the 2-0 loss to Tottenham on Saturday.
After being removed from the Antwerp squad, goalkeeper Lammens is preparing to join Manchester United for £17 million. This could potentially impact the goalkeeper composition at Manchester City and bring changes to the United team.Read also
