The mother of a 12-year-old Russian figure skater accused the coach of harassment towards her daughter.
Tatyana Antonova reported that coach Konstantin Medovikov sexually harassed her 12-year-old daughter Daria during training sessions. The woman noted that the child confessed to her some time later about the coach's inappropriate behavior.
According to Antonova, at the 'Krasnoyarsk Patterns' competition, the local figure skating federation installed cameras and broadcasted the events live. Thus, one of the moments when the coach pressed against the child and touched her breasts was captured and went on air.
After the mother wrote a letter to the federation complaining about Medovikov, the coach was fired from his job at the school but remained on the federation's board. However, he sent a request demanding the girl be returned to him.
Antonova turned to law enforcement and filed a complaint. She visited the police in the Novosibirsk region, but the woman noted that they do not believe her.
In connection with the recent accusations, world snooker champion Graham Dott is also accused of sexual violence against two children. It is known that Dott has been charged with two counts, one involving a boy and the other a girl. Court documents indicate that at the time they were approximately 10 years old.
Dott, a 47-year-old Scot, is a world snooker champion and a father of two children.
