Changes in rules for drivers
Max Verstappen has become the catalyst for changes in the rules for drivers who wish to participate in other competitions. The four-time Formula 1 champion decided to switch to another series to compete in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie race number nine (NLS9) in September. For this, Verstappen had to obtain a full Permit A license in order to be eligible to compete in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.“The changes regarding license acquisition are due to my participation in this series,”the driver commented.New licensing requirements will soon become mandatory for other drivers planning to take part in similar competitions. These changes could significantly affect drivers' participation in such series, as obtaining a new license will require additional efforts and commitments. This, in turn, may alter the schedules of many drivers and their opportunities to compete in multi-disciplinary events.
