Middlesbrough Players Fined for Missing Birthday Cakes: £100 Penalty.
According to The Sun: A list of penalties for Middlesbrough stars for the 2025-26 season has 'sensationally leaked' online
Middlesbrough stars face astonishingly high fines for infractions in the 2025-26 season that have made their way onto the internet.
And the stars pay MORE for missing a cake on their birthday than for urinating in the shower.
The snapshot shows an incredibly long list of potential punishments.
They range from offenses on the training ground to sanctions on match days and even seven-balls on the roulette.
Being late for a match incurs a penalty of £500 plus £25 for every minute delayed.
This means that if a Middlesbrough star shows up half an hour late to a match, they will have to pay an astonishing total of £1,250.
All specified fines are subject to doubling.
The paper states that fines must be paid by the next Friday or they must pay double the stated amount and will also be doubled in November after 'spinning the wheel'.
Other serious fines include £500 plus £10 for every minute late to a meeting and £250 plus £10 per minute for being late for the bus.
Even not having a GPS device during warm-ups costs £100.
It's not just on match days; there are strict rules during training as well.
Missing a training session will cost you £100 plus £10 for every minute of punishment.
While obviously being on time is a key issue for this Championship team, there are some stranger fines.
Urinating in the shower will set you back £50, and being a seven-ball on the pool table will cost you £50.
Missing a training session and leaving items on the lunch table is also on the list for £50.
In the shower, everyone must wear flip-flops, and for this, players will face a penalty of £20 for not wearing them, but leaving them there will also cost £50.
Every text message on the phone will cost you £20 each, and even wearing earrings to training will set you back a staggering £100.
Incredibly, if a Middlesbrough player wants a night at home instead of joining the team for a party, it will cost them heavily – £500.
Furthermore, failing to inform the medical staff about an injury by 8:45 will also incur an additional £500.
However, not everything has a fixed price... some punishments are obviously in the discussion area.
“Unacceptable posts on social media” and “parking in staff parking spots” are both listed as POA, or price on application.
But almost every response to the leaked photo focused on one specific penalty...
Stars who do not bring 'cakes/treats' on their birthday must put £100 in the cash box... double the penalty for urinating in the shower.
Fans have been left bewildered, posting on X in droves, with one saying: “Imagine if this was a regular job...”
Another wrote: 'Cake should be taken very seriously! UTB.'
Another added: “Not bringing cakes on your birthday will cost you a bigger fine than *checks notes* urinating in the shower.'
Middlesbrough has imposed strict fines on stars in the 2025-26 season for a variety of infractions, including being late for matches, missing cake on their birthday, and even wearing flip-flops in the shower. Fans are shocked by the level of severity and call the club's approach 'very serious'.Read also
