Problems with the winter sowing campaign in Mykolaiv region

According to inkorr.com: The farmers of Mykolaiv region are facing serious difficulties due to unfavorable weather during the sowing of winter crops. Olena Piskun, the director of the agricultural complex department of the region, noted that only 70% of the planned work has been completed so far. This year, weather conditions have significantly complicated soil preparation and sowing of winter crops for next year.

Prolonged drought has hindered the timely execution of work in the fields. Only slightly more than 68% of what was planned has been sown. However, the situation began to improve at the end of September when rains broke the drought period, allowing for the continuation of sowing, albeit with some delays. This season, agricultural producers plan to sow winter wheat, barley, rye, and rapeseed on approximately 650 thousand hectares.

Farmers in Mykolaiv region have to actively fight against unfavorable weather conditions that complicate the sowing process. Despite all the difficulties, they have completed 70% of the planned work and hope to sow about 650 thousand hectares of winter crops.

Recent events demonstrate how important weather conditions are for the agricultural sector of the region. Every day of delay can have a significant impact on the harvest of the following year. Farmers continue to hope for favorable weather to complete the sowing campaign in optimal time.
