Fish Prices at the Pryvoz Market
According to Novyny.live: This summer, the cost of Black Sea goby at Odessa's Pryvoz Market has surged to 700 Ukrainian hryvnias per kilogram. The spike in demand, especially among vacationers, is driving this price hike and reshaping the market's dynamics.
Black Sea goby now sells for 700 UAH per kg at the Pryvoz Market. For comparison:
- Liman goby - 450 UAH per kg
- Black Sea tavriika - 600 UAH per kg
- Carp - 200 UAH per kg
- Lightly salted trout - 550-600 UAH per kg
- Dried bream - 800 UAH per kg
Roe prices also show notable variation:
- Chum salmon roe - 800 UAH per 100 g
- Pink salmon roe - 750 UAH per 100 g
- Red caviar - 900 UAH per 100 g
Market vendors report steady demand for fish, particularly trout.
“Trout is currently priced at 550-600 hryvnias per kilogram, but a new shipment is expected tomorrow. I think whole trout will be around 500 hryvnias,” said vendor Svitlana.
The rise in Black Sea goby prices may be linked to the peak tourist season, which boosts demand for seafood. As Pryvoz Market is a favorite shopping destination for both locals and tourists, these price shifts likely reflect broader regional fish consumption trends. Market conditions can fluctuate based on seasonal factors and the availability of fish stocks.
