Mobile operator lifecell announced a tariff increase.

The cost of lifecell tariffs will rise in February
In February, the cost of tariffs for lifecell, the third largest operator by subscriber numbers, will increase. This was announced by DVL’s CEO ("Datagroup", "Volia", and lifecell) Mykhailo Shelemba.
"Unfortunately, there will be a forced price change for existing subscribers. It will take place in February," said Shelemba.
The main factor behind the increase in cost is the rise in electricity prices. According to Shelemba, all mobile operators have felt the increase in electricity costs. It has nearly doubled over the past year, and lifecell expects to spend UAH 2.3 billion this year on this.
"Thanks to cost optimization, we will do this at half of what economic conditions demand. The last price increase for existing subscribers was nearly a year and a half ago, and that was only for 15% of the subscriber base," Shelemba said.
This price increase will not affect new customers who transferred their number to lifecell since December, as they have locked in the tariff rate until the end of the year.
Change in Vodafone tariff prices
The mobile operator Vodafone recently announced an increase in the cost of some prepaid tariffs. Starting December 24, their price will rise by UAH 70-120, but the volume of services will remain unchanged. This will affect four tariffs.
Increase in number porting by Ukrainians
In 2024, the number of Ukrainians who switched to another operator while keeping their number has increased by 2.3 times compared to 2023. The number of mobile numbers that were ported using the MNP service (mobile number portability) reached 340.63 thousand.
The most numbers were ported from "Kyivstar" - 60% (207.1 thousand), followed by Vodafone with 32% (109.53 thousand), and lifecell, which is part of the DVL group, with 6.7% (22.88 thousand). Meanwhile, lifecell became the target operator for ported numbers from other operators - 79% (269.76 thousand), Vodafone - 15.88% (54.11 thousand), and "Kyivstar" - 4.7% (16.16 thousand).
Shutdown of 3G networks
Mobile operators will begin shutting down their 3G networks this year. This will be done to free up space for 4G and improve the provision of fast and quality services.
