The Ukrainian women's U19 national football team missed an important match due to visa issues.
The Ukrainian women's U19 national team did not manage to fly to the United Kingdom for the Euro-2025 (WU-19) qualifying match against Austria due to problems obtaining visas. The Ukrainian delegation submitted visa applications on March 12, but British visas were not issued. As a result, the team was unable to book tickets to fly to England on time.
The team spent two days in Krakow, Poland, waiting for the situation to be resolved. Representatives of the British authorities agreed on the possibility of allowing the team to enter without visas. However, due to tight deadlines and the match schedule, the match will still take place only on the scheduled date.
The organizers of the competition, UEFA, decided that the match result would be determined according to the regulations. This situation indicates problems in the organization and communication between the Ukrainian delegation and the visa center. It also reminds us of the importance of adhering to deadlines and understanding the competition schedule. Although the possibility of entry without visas is a positive step, in this case, it was not possible due to the limited time. All of this proves how important coordination and collaboration are between the parties involved in organizing such events.
