M&S launches clothing exchange program: get a voucher for old clothes.
According to The Sun: Today M&S opens a new second-hand store, giving customers the opportunity to earn free vouchers for exchanging old clothing. The retailer will sell pre-owned clothing on the online platform eBay to raise funds for the charity Oxfam. To receive a free voucher, customers will need to fill out a short form on the website or scan a QR code in M&S stores. A £5 voucher can be used for purchases over £35. All proceeds from this initiative will be donated to support the global charity Oxfam. It is also worth noting that M&S will have a special platform for reselling clothing that cannot be sold on eBay, aiming to extend its lifecycle and minimize textile waste.
In the retail world, there are other stores where customers can find second-hand clothing and support sustainable use of items. For example, Primark has a vintage section called Wornwell, and H&M also has a 'Pre-Loved' section with second-hand clothing. This trend towards supporting sustainable consumption and use of goods is becoming increasingly popular among consumers.
