Russia’s Allegations Dismissed

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has firmly denied Russian accusations about the existence of American biolabs on its soil, emphasizing that the country has never engaged in biological weapons production. The ministry’s response underscores that all collaborative initiatives with the United States were strictly scientific in nature.

No activities related to biological weapon development have ever taken place in Ukraine. In 2022, international consultations were held involving states party to the Biological Weapons Convention, specifically addressing allegations that Ukraine was developing such weapons. These consultations yielded no evidence to support the claims. Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry stresses that

“the consultations found no confirmation whatsoever of the alleged development of biological weapons or the operation of military biological programs in Ukraine.”

Ukraine’s Stance

Furthermore, the United Nations Security Council closed the matter due to a complete lack of proof. Kyiv reiterates that it

“has never carried out any activities related to the development, production, or stockpiling of biological weapons.”
The ministry urges reliance on verified facts and the outcomes of international consultations, rather than on distorted interpretations or Russian propaganda.

Ukraine’s position remains unequivocal: the country has no involvement in biological weapons development, and Russia’s accusations are baseless. Joint medical programs with the United States continue to be purely scientific, demonstrating Ukraine’s commitment to transparency and international cooperation in this field.

These statements from Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry reflect the nation’s determination to safeguard its international reputation, especially amid Russia’s ongoing aggression. The situation highlights the critical role of international consultations and verification in fostering trust and transparency between countries. The absence of evidence behind Russia’s allegations also suggests an effort to destabilize Ukraine during wartime.
