New Traffic Measures Set for Odesa Region

According to Novyny.live: Starting June 8, 2026, the Odesa region will introduce seasonal restrictions for heavy trucks and roll out the eQueue system for passenger vehicles. These changes aim to improve logistics and enhance road safety during the summer months.

Summer Truck Limits

The seasonal restrictions apply to trucks weighing over 24 tons with axle loads exceeding 7 tons. Such vehicles will be banned from the roads between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM when temperatures rise above +28°C. Exceptions include vehicles involved in emergency response operations and those carrying hazardous or perishable goods.

“Despite the war, Ukraine is not only keeping logistics running but is also building a new model of transport resilience” - Oleksiy Kuleba.

The eQueue system is already operational for freight and bus transport, making border crossings more predictable and transparent. The upcoming expansion to passenger cars is expected to further ease congestion and improve traffic flow.

These new measures are part of broader efforts to streamline transport processes in the Odesa region and create better conditions for drivers. They aim to preserve road safety while supporting logistics stability amid challenging circumstances.

The introduction of seasonal restrictions and the eQueue system reflects the Ukrainian government’s commitment to adapting transport infrastructure to modern challenges, including those posed by the war. The summer truck limits are designed to reduce accident risks and protect road quality during peak travel season, while the eQueue system targets reduced wait times and more efficient vehicle movement. Together, these steps are critical for maintaining safety and stability in transport, ultimately supporting the region’s economic growth.
