Vovchansk is not under full control of the Russian Federation: Armed Forces hold positions in certain areas.

According to ТСН: The Ukrainian Armed Forces occupy positions on the outskirts of Vovchansk, located in the Kharkiv region. However, the occupiers continue to attack the devastated territories, complicating the maintenance of our positions.

Head of the communication department of the Joint Forces grouping, Viktor Trehubov, noted in a broadcast on "Espresso" that there are serious challenges in the Vovchansk direction. The situation is complicated by the fact that the city has been destroyed as a result of years of fighting, and even from a height, it is difficult to discern its streets.

"The Russians are trying to advance simply through the ruins, where it is difficult to maintain positions. Claims by the enemy that the entire city is under their control are not true. In certain districts of Vovchansk, Ukrainians are also present, but the situation is that other areas are completely destroyed, and the enemy is advancing through them," he emphasized.

Trehubov also added that the current weather conditions in the region somewhat ease the position of the Russians, while it hinders the Ukrainian military.

"During this period, there are heavy fogs, especially in the morning, which do not allow for the active use of drones and copters. Under such conditions, small enemy groups relatively effectively infiltrate, as they are difficult to see and destroy. Even in some cases, the Russians are currently utilizing equipment, as they can, albeit still very limited," he added.

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian military has been countering the enemy's advance in the Lyman direction for more than two and a half years, despite the significant losses suffered by the enemy.

The situation at the front remains complicated, but Ukrainian forces continue to defend the territory while the enemy attempts to maintain control over the destroyed areas. This struggle is crucial not only for the current moment but also for the future development of the conflict in the region.
