Weather on January 5: high pressure will bring dry weather to the west and north.

According to ТСН: In Ukraine, on January 5, a significant part of the western and northern regions will be affected by a strong area of high atmospheric pressure, ensuring mostly dry weather.

Forecaster Natalka Didenko reported that on the weather map, a band of high pressure is clearly visible, extending from Portugal and Spain through Germany and Poland to Ukraine. At the same time, cyclones with atmospheric fronts are moving north and south of this band, where precipitation is expected - snow or rain depending on the air temperature.

According to her, it will be dry in the west and north of the country tomorrow, while in the south, central regions, as well as Donetsk, Luhansk, Chernivtsi regions, and the Carpathians, there will be rain and snow.

Didenko also noted that the air temperature will fluctuate from minus one to plus six degrees. In the central regions, the temperature will range from four degrees of frost to one degree of warmth. In the south, warmer weather is expected - from three to seven degrees, and in southern Crimea, it may reach ten degrees.

Weather conditions in Kyiv

According to the forecast, it will be mostly dry in Kyiv tomorrow. At night, the temperature will drop to minus eight degrees, while during the day, around minus four is expected. Due to the frost, there may be ice and slippery sections on the roads. Snow with the cyclone is expected to reach the capital only on January 6.

Natalka Didenko also emphasized that the week will be meteorologically diverse, with daily weather changes expected. At the end of the week, there may be a brief but significant cold snap.

On January 5, Ukrainians celebrate Holodna Kutu, traditionally soaking wheat and pounding poppy seeds, and on January 6, it is Epiphany. On this day, slight temperature fluctuations and periodic snow precipitation are forecasted.

Thus, the preliminary weather forecast for January 5 for Ukraine promises mostly dry conditions in the west and north, while precipitation is expected in the south and central regions. Caution is advised on the roads due to possible ice, and preparation for various weather changes throughout the week is recommended.
