People's Deputy Maksym Tkachенко reported that about 150 thousand internally displaced persons returned to the temporarily occupied territories, as they did not receive assistance from the state and were unable to start a new life in the controlled territory.

Who is Maksym Tkachенко

Maksym Tkachенко is a people's deputy and a native of Luhansk. He lived in Luhansk and managed the company 'Master-show', which organizes tours for famous artists. Later, he moved to Kyiv and became a co-owner of the company LLC 'Kvartal-concert' and concert director of Tina Karol and the band 'BeZObmezhen'.

Currently, Tkachенко is the deputy head of the parliamentary faction of the party 'Servant of the People' and the first deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation, and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories. He is also an advisor to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council on issues of reintegration and recovery of Donbas.

Tkachенко is known for his controversial statements regarding the occupying Russian authorities.

Reaction of Ukrainians to Tkachенко's new statement

Many Ukrainians believe that Tkachенко's statement contributes to Russian propaganda. One of the people's deputies, Serhiy Rudy, accused him of spreading Russian IPSO. According to him, such statements fulfill the plan of Russian propaganda for months ahead.

Journalist Marina Danylyuk-Yarmolaeva noted that many residents remained in Mariupol even during the occupation.

Ukrainians are divided into two camps regarding Tkachенко's statement - some consider it correct, while others are convinced that he is helping Russian propaganda.

It is worth noting that the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is engaged in the embezzlement of occupied Mariupol. He takes equipment that will not function properly and massively exports scrap metal on an industrial scale. The occupiers also sold apartments in Mariupol for large sums of money, which outraged local residents.
