The collector almost drank ashes from an antique flask: the horror video went viral.
According to ТСН: When buying things with a 'history', it’s always wise to be prepared for surprises. Collector and blogger Oleksandr Wagner recently found himself in an unusual situation that quickly went viral on TikTok.
"A small gift, goodwill is all"
Oleksandr found an original ceramic item shaped like a book with the inscription:
"The gift is small. Good will is all"("A small gift, goodwill is all"). He thought it was an antique alcohol flask in Dutch style and turned on the camera.
"If I were a drunkard, I would definitely take this flask," he joked, pulling out the cork and bringing the bottle to his mouth.
A moment of horror
Unexpectedly, a gray powdery substance poured out of the opening, covering his clothes and face. Oleksandr's reaction changed from excitement to panic.
"Oh God, it was filled! I hope it was sand... I almost poured it into my mouth. Do you think it’s ashes?" the blogger panicked, trying to shake the 'history' off himself.
In the comments, he also noted that the mixture might have contained something resembling "a shell fragment" or... bones.
User reactions online
Users on TikTok started to put forward a popular theory - the container likely held the ashes of a deceased person.
"You were almost cursed by someone's grandmother."
"This is 100% ashes, I’m scared."
"That’s a bone. I scattered my dad’s ashes… there are often clumps and bones. I didn’t expect this."
However, there's a less unpleasant version. Experts in the comments suggested that it could have been an antique hand warmer from the 18th century or its vintage copy. Such items were often filled with sand, which retained heat for a long time.
So, perhaps Oleksandr simply covered himself with ancient sand rather than the ashes of someone’s relative. Although he certainly doesn’t plan to taste it any longer.
This situation highlights how interesting finds can turn into unexpected adventures. The blogger is now probably more cautious when choosing antiques and teaches his followers how important it is to learn the history of the things we deal with.
