Lower league player against Manchester United: The story of Jay Cobbs.
Star moment for Jay Cobbs
According to The Sun: Jay Cobbs, who just a few months ago was playing in lower leagues, will today play against the millionaires of Manchester United.
The League Two club Grimsby signed him last month after he helped Truro City rise to the National League.

In his first six matches in the EFL, he scored four goals, including a debut.
25-year-old Cobbs began his career at Cob Ramblers – the same place that raised United legend Roy Keane.
The Grimsby player admits he cannot believe he will take the field against stars led by Ruben Amorim in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
This is a completely different reality than playing in front of 462 fans on lower level fields.
“Never in my wildest dreams a few months ago when I was playing in the Southern National League did I think I would play against Manchester United. It’s a real whirlwind,” he said.
Cobbs also noted that he is a lifelong Arsenal fan and recently watched their game against United on television, so playing against them is an incredible opportunity for him.
“This is what you play football for – the big moments that stay with you forever,” he added.
This journey has not been easy for Cobbs.
He made his professional football debut at 17 for Cob Ramblers and also experienced injuries while playing in Scotland for Livingston.
“I made my debut against Rangers at Ibrox and injured my knee – then I was on loan to Falkirk,” he told. “Then I tore my groin and thigh muscles!”
He aimed to succeed in English football and moved to Truro, where he had an amazing season, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists.
“Moving to Truro was the best thing I ever did. It was a wonderful season,” he notes.
Today he will have the opportunity to play against stars like Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, and Casemiro.
“These players have made a name for themselves on the world stage – Casemiro has won the Champions League, he has won it all,” he emphasized.

Cobbs is confident that this match will be special for everyone, as Grimsby will host a big club at their stadium.
“For us, it will be a special night. It’s a free opportunity, as we are not expected to achieve a result,” he summarized.
The Grimsby players hope to demonstrate that they can compete with such giants in football.
Thus, Jay Cobbs' game is not only his personal success but also an opportunity for the Grimsby team to become more prominent on the football map of the country. It reminds everyone of how great things can be achieved despite the difficulties faced on the way to success.
