According to The Sun: The new rock supergroup Mirador has presented its debut album, filled with dynamic riffs, mystical lyrics, and bright sonic experiments.

The band, which includes guitarist Jake Kiska from Grammy-winning group Greta Van Fleet, frontwoman Ida Mae, Chris Turpin, and talented session musicians Nick Pini and Mikey Sorbello, has already earned the title of 'saviors of the year'.

The band consists of drummer Mikey Sorbello, vocalist and guitarist Chris Turpin, guitarist and vocalist Jake Kiska, and bassist Nick Pini.

The band acknowledges the praise, but from Toronto, Jake notes:

“We have heard these lofty statements about us, 'saviors of the year'. But no king can wear this crown by himself. We are just music lovers obsessed with rock and roll and its history, culture, philosophy, and mythology.”

The love for classic rock is felt in all 12 tracks of the album, recorded in a Savannah, Georgia studio over two intensive weeks with esteemed producer Dave Cobb.

Jake adds:

“The album has new elements of invention, certain moments where we were able to reach things that had not been done musically and sonically before.”

Mixing modern trends with the past, the band has achieved uniqueness, reviving forgotten sounds and drawing on the foundations of folk and blues rock.

Culture and Legacy

Jake notes:

“Many rock bands now have tunnel vision, looking toward the future. But Chris and I decided to look to the past, exploring the old recordings of Alan Lomax and Eastern European folk music.”

Chris adds:

“I believe that all rock bands also receive information through the prism of early folk and blues.”

Influences and Inspiration

The band draws inspiration from iconic artists such as Fairport Convention, Cream, White Stripes, and The Stooges.

Jake and Chris believe that the band's name is a metaphor for their search for musical inspiration. The band was initially planned to be called Marauder, but the autocorrect on the phone suggested the name Mirador.

It turned out that the term 'Mirador' means 'high viewpoint', perfectly reflecting their musical journeys and inspirations.

In November, the band plans concerts in the United Kingdom and has announced special performances at festivals next year.

The band also hints at an active festival season in 2027, which, in the absence of Glastonbury in 2026, could become significant for them.

Jake emphasizes:

“Our album reflects our souls, and we are here to stay.”

Mirador has already attracted the attention of listeners due to their unique style and original approach to music. Their willingness to combine different musical genres and influences speaks to their ambition and desire to set new musical standards. With their debut album in hand, they are opening a new chapter in their creative lives.

The band continues to actively work on their music career. Scheduled concerts in the UK and participation in festivals only confirm their intention to become one of the leaders of the modern rock scene.
