Newcastle received an unexpected £600,000 after Celtic's exit.
According to The Sun: NEWCASTLE received an unexpected profit after Celtic's exit from the Champions League.
For 'Magpies', the summer has been challenging in terms of transfers.
ReutersHowever, Celtic's defeat in a penalty shootout to Kazakh club Kairat Almaty brought Newcastle a profit of £600,000.
Additionally, Red Star lost to Paphos club.
Thus, Newcastle will receive £29.1 million for participating in the Champions League, even without starting any matches.
The club is set to receive £1.8 million for a win, while a draw brings £590,000.
Teams are also awarded £233,000 for each position in the group stage table, and an additional £1.7 million for reaching the top eight clubs.
Moreover, prizes are awarded for each win in the knockout stage, which allows the team to increase its income.
Transfer Issues
Newcastle has been trying for a while to find a striker this summer, particularly focusing on Alexander Isak.
The club lost out in the race for Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko, but is still trying to sign Joann Vissa, even though Brentford refuses to lower the asking price to £60 million.
The club's management has turned its attention to Wolverhampton striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Newcastle also received the opportunity to sign Dusan Vlahovic, as Juventus is willing to accept offers around £26 million to reduce wage expenses following the arrival of Jonathan David.
However, according to SunSport, Vlahovic will remain in Turin this summer.
The reason is that Newcastle favors Jorgen Strand Larsen, despite having already made a £50 million offer that their Premier League colleagues rejected.
