During his first-round victory at the US Open, Novak Djokovic suffered a gruesome toe injury, which was seen on TV by Rory McIlroy. The 24-time Grand Slam champion defeated American teenager Creator Tien with a score of 6-1 7-6 6-2.
According to The Sun: While playing in the US Open, Novak Djokovic hurt his toe pretty badly, and even golf star Rory McIlroy saw it on TV. The tennis champ, who has won 24 Grand Slam titles, beat American youngster Creator Tien in three sets.
During the match, Djokovic had to get his trainer to look at a blister on his right foot, but he didn't seem too worried about it. He said it wasn't a big deal for him. Djokovic, a four-time US Open winner, admitted he felt worse than expected physically during the game but managed to pull himself together after the second set and win. Next, he will play against American qualifier Zachary Svajda.
