Limited fit for military service up to 25 years: Can they leave the country during the war?

According to Novyny.live: Citizens with a 'limited fit' status who are under 25 years old can leave the country during martial law. However, they may face some difficulties along the way, particularly at the checkpoints of territorial recruitment centers (TRC).

The 'limited fit' status no longer exists after changes in legislation. However, individuals with this status may have deferments from conscription if they are students. This gives them certain advantages when leaving the country, as citizens with deferments do not encounter problems at the border.

Citizens’ right to exit

An important aspect is that, despite having a 'military obligated' status and being fit for military service, citizens have the right to exit until they reach the age of 22, inclusive. According to expert Yuriy Aivazyan,

“Yes, you will be allowed through at the border, but the main thing is to get to the border through the checkpoints.” - Yuriy Aivazyan

He also notes that if the deferment is registered under 'Reserve+', then the person 'will have no problems reaching the crossing point'.

Thus, while citizens with a 'limited fit' status can leave the country, they should be prepared for possible delays at TRC checkpoints. This issue remains relevant for young people looking to leave the country during martial law.

Under martial law, the exit of young people with specific military statuses remains an important topic. Changes in legislation related to conscription create new challenges and opportunities for citizens looking to continue their education or find work outside of Ukraine. The experience gained during the transition of 'limited fit' status can influence their future decisions and plans, especially in the context of military obligations and personal safety.
