Vukojević Turns Down Coaching Role

According to Novyny.live: Ognjen Vukojević has decided not to accept an offer to take charge of the U19 youth team at Kyiv's Dynamo. This opportunity arose after Igor Kostyuk moved up to coach the club's senior side. The 42-year-old Vukojević intends to continue his coaching career in Croatia, where he is currently employed by the club Rudeš.

Vukojević left Dynamo at the end of 2022 and joined Rudeš in October 2025. During his playing days at Dynamo, he made over a hundred appearances, winning the Ukrainian championship and domestic cup competitions. Beyond his club career, Vukojević also represented the Croatian national team at European and World Championships, most notably achieving success at the 2018 World Cup where his team secured the silver medal.

Vukojević's Future Career Path

Consequently, a return to Dynamo for Vukojević is now on hold, with his immediate professional future remaining tied to Croatian football. His decision highlights a strategic choice to build his coaching reputation closer to home before potentially considering high-profile moves abroad.

Vukojević's refusal of the Dynamo coaching position underscores his commitment to developing his career in Croatia. This also presents new opportunities for emerging coaches in Ukrainian football as the club continues its search for the right candidate to lead the U19 side. Meanwhile, Vukojević remains a popular figure among Dynamo supporters, a factor that could influence a potential return at some point in the future.
