The team continues to compete under the blue and yellow flag, striving for success on the world stage.
How Ukrainian Competitors Fared
In the women's team sprint, the Ukrainian squad finished in 20th place. The men's team sprint saw Dmytro Drahun and Oleksandr Lisohor end their run in 23rd position. In individual events, Angelina Brykina achieved the best Ukrainian result of the day, placing 13th in women's freestyle skiing aerials with a score of 79.84 points. Other Ukrainian competitors in that discipline were:
- Diana Yablonska - 18th place
- Nelli Popovych - 19th place
- Oksana Yatsiuk - 20th place
In alpine skiing, Anastasiia Shepilenko did not finish the slalom event. The women's biathlon relay team, consisting of Yuliia Dzhima, Khrystyna Dmytrenko, Oleksandra Merkushyna, and Dariia Chalyk, secured a ninth-place finish. A notable performance came from Oleh Handei, who placed fourth in his 500-meter short track speedskating quarterfinal. Among all Ukrainian athletes, Angelina Brykina's 13th-place finish was the closest to reaching a final.
For the Ukrainian team, only one event now remains: the men's mass start in biathlon, scheduled for February 20.
These Games hold significant weight for Ukrainian athletes as they seek to represent their nation internationally amid ongoing challenges. Their performances here can influence future career opportunities and help promote winter sports back home. With the majority of events now concluded, the team has one final chance to improve its standing in the remaining competition.
