Olympic Marten. Prosecutors Found 'Culprit' of Cable Damage in Competition Fan Zone.
The Paris prosecutor's office identified the culprit behind the damage to the fiber optic cables that ensure the operation of the Olympic fan zone. The responsibility for this has been placed on a marten, which chewed through the cable in eight places. This led to interruptions in the broadcast on the big screen. The police opened an investigation and do not rule out the possibility that a group may be behind these actions.
The broadcast on the big screen in the Vincennes Forest fan zone was interrupted several times due to cable damage. This led to the opening of an investigation under the articles "causing harm" and "disruption of the operation of automated data processing systems." The fan zone alarm did not go off as a result of this.
After analyzing footage from surveillance cameras, it became known that a marten chewed through the cable in eight places at night. As a result of this damage, the cable will be relocated to another place to avoid similar situations in the future.
French media used this incident as a reason for jokes. However, it is a serious problem that hinders the normal operation of the fan zone during the Olympic Games.
