Usyk tried on the suit of a famous historical hero - who did he become.
At the press conference before the main fight of the year, Oleksandr Usyk amazed everyone by appearing before journalists in the outfit of Hetman Pavlo Skoropadskyi, creating a symbolic image of a remarkable historical figure.
What Usyk and Dubois said
The press conference was tense but friendly. The Brit Daniel Dubois looked focused, although he did not hide his astonishment. Usyk, on the other hand, remained calm and confident, not losing his charisma. He spoke not only about his opponent but also about his readiness to reflect the true soul of a Ukrainian - in every match, in every gesture.
'Do you consider me old? I'm not old, I'm only 38 years old. This is not the age of an old person. See you in the ring. Don't rush things,' Usyk stated.
Daniel Dubois was offended by the words of Oleksandr Usyk's manager, who said that the Briton's style had not changed since their first meeting. Although Dubois' team denied this, the Briton's own reaction evidenced his surprise, and during the 'battle of glances', he turned away first.
The fight for the absolute title between 38-year-old Usyk and 27-year-old Dubois will take place on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London, marking a rematch between the two boxers. In their previous match, the Ukrainian defeated the Brit by knocking him out in the 9th round at the arena in Wroclaw.
Usyk continues to amaze with his performances before matches, creating unique images and demonstrating maximum confidence in his abilities. The fight with Dubois promises to be an exciting event for all boxing fans and sports lovers in general.
