The Russians have started using 'shaheds' with thermobaric payloads. In an interview with 'Glavkom,' specialist in communications, electronic warfare, and intelligence Sergey Beskrestnov explained why such drones are especially dangerous. According to the specialist, a thermobaric charge, when exploding, inflicts barotrauma on a person, meaning it affects internal organs, and acoustic trauma, meaning it harms hearing organs.

«How many are being used now, we cannot say because we rely solely on fragments, which is not enough to draw conclusions. It's not quite the classic «thermobar» described in textbooks, but this charge is similar in principle. It works on the principle of a large volumetric explosion, where the explosive substance spreads out and then is ignited and detonates», – said Sergey Beskrestnov.

According to the specialist, drones with such payloads pose a threat, for example, to our power plants, which have protection against debris. Such a charge can fall on the station's territory with all its infrastructure and volumetrically detonate it. That is to say, it might not damage two transformers but try to ruin the entire infrastructure as much as possible.

«This is a kind of Russian «Sunburn» equivalent, capable of causing damage over a large area. If such a «thermobar» hits a high-rise, it will quickly fill cavities in the ceilings, and the damage may be worse than from an ordinary «shahed», – warned Flesch.

Let's recall, the appearance of more EW tools on the front forces the invention of new drones and their use in various directions.

By the way, recently, the Russians have been using a large number of drones to exhaust the air defense forces in Kyiv. This may indicate that a missile attack on the capital will occur soon.

Also, communication, electronic warfare, and intelligence specialist Sergey Beskrestnov mentioned that since early August, the Russians have started using 'Gerber' drones. These are cheap drones, without a warhead, whose task is solely to confuse our air defense forces.
