The decline will continue: when eggs in Ukraine will reach the minimum price.
Decline in chicken egg prices in Ukraine
First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky reported that egg prices in Ukraine officially decreased since the beginning of February. According to official data from the State Statistics Service, the average price of a dozen eggs (unpackaged) is already 54.91 UAH. According to Vysotsky, the price continues to decline and may soon drop by 5%.
The reason for the decrease in the price of eggs is the increase in production, which is a seasonal phenomenon. 'Egg production is growing both on an industrial scale and among the population. This is due to the arrival of warmth and an increase in the number of eggs produced,' explained Vysotsky.
Vysotsky predicts that this trend will continue further. It is also noteworthy that with the approach of summer, prices for eggs usually decrease, and the lowest price is formed in summer.
The Minister also noted that currently there is no threat of a shortage of Ukrainian eggs in the domestic market.
It should also be noted that supermarkets have lowered prices for pork, which may affect consumers' wallets.
