On December 26th of this year, the Albanian parliament became the victim of a hacker attack, during which the attackers attempted to breach the system and destroy its data. The government's operation has been temporarily suspended. This was reported by AP.

The hackers failed to gain access to the system's data, but experts are now studying the potential consequences of the attack.

Local media reported that on Monday, December 25th, there were also cyberattacks on a mobile service provider and an airline by Iranian hackers known as Homeland Justice. However, this information cannot be verified.

It is worth noting that in July 2022, Albania became the victim of a cyberattack for which the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was blamed. This attack was likely a response to Albania providing asylum to members of the Iranian opposition group Mujahedeen-e-Khalq or MEK.
