Romanian Parliament Approved the Creation of a Training Center for Ukrainian Marines.


Romanian President Klaus Iohannis received support from the parliament for the creation of a training center for Ukrainian marines on the country's territory. 233 deputies voted for this decision, 18 opposed it, and 25 abstained.
In his letter to the parliament, Iohannis noted that the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine has shown the need to strengthen the training of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He also emphasized that Romania is ready to contribute to maritime activities by placing a training center on its territory and providing support to Ukrainian marines.
According to the proposed plan, this training center will operate for two years. However, Romania reserves the right to terminate its obligations at any Time during the training process or after the established term ends.
