Pensions in March Will Not Increase for Everyone: Who Among Ukrainians Will Not Be Affected by Payment Indexation.

Ukrainians were explained who will not receive pension indexation in March.
Starting from March 1, 2025, pension indexation will be conducted in Ukraine, which involves an increase in payments by 10%. However, this increase does not apply to all pensioners.
According to lawyer Ivan Khomyts, indexation will not apply to two categories of pensioners:
- those who started receiving pensions only in January-February 2025;
- citizens who were granted a pension in the last 4 years.
At the same Time, the lawyer explained that pension indexation in Ukraine affects the indicator used to calculate the pension payment.
According to him, due to the complex scheme of pension indexation, the government excluded from the list of individuals granted a pension in the last four years those who may receive a significant increase in payments.
These pensioners receive 'market' pensions, while the indexation is aimed at outdated pensions granted before 2021.
According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, as of February 13, 2025, the total amount of paid pensions was 33.9 billion hryvnias. However, Ukrainian deputies note that the level of pension provision in Ukraine remains one of the lowest among European countries, despite the conducted indexation.
We remind you that pensions for Ukrainians abroad and in occupied territories will begin to be paid under new rules.
