More than 50 thousand eighteen-year-old Ukrainians have applied to participate in the 'eBook' program, and on January 3, the first applicants received a payment of 908 hryvnias. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.

The announcement states that these funds can be used to purchase paper, electronic, or audiobooks in the Ukrainian language. Payments can be spent in bookstores or on websites that have joined the project within three months from the day of accrual. If the funds are not used, they will be returned to the account of the Ukrainian Book Institute.

How to use the program?

  • install the Diia application on your smartphone;
  • open a special Diia.Card account for 'eBooks' at one of the participating banks;
  • submit an application in the Diia application.

It is noted that the 'eBook' project was implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ukrainian Book Institute.

With this initiative, we aim not only to encourage young people to read in their native language, but also to support the Ukrainian publishing industry, the production capacities of which have been affected by Russian shelling,' noted Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

Additionally, the Ukrainian Book Institute published a list of bookstores where books can be purchased within the 'eBook' program.

We would like to remind you that on Saturday, January 4, it will be cloudy in Ukraine with clearings. Light snowfall is expected.
