Peter Kay cancels concerts due to surgery: details on health status.
According to The Sun: Comedian Peter Kay has been forced to cancel two of his performances due to surgery for kidney stones.
The 52-year-old humorist informed his fans through an official statement.
GettyThe official statement from tour organizers SJM concerts states: “
We are sorry to inform you that due to a planned procedure for kidney stones, Peter will be unable to perform at his scheduled shows at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on Sunday, October 5, and Monday, October 6.“Following medical advice, Peter will take a break from performances for a while to recover.”
The statement also notes that Sunday's show has been rescheduled to Thursday, December 11, and Monday's show to Friday, December 12.
All tickets remain valid for the new dates, and refunds are available for those unable to attend the rescheduled shows.
The organizers expressed gratitude to fans for their “patience and understanding” in this situation.
Kidney stones are mineralized masses that can cause severe pain. They can range in size from a grain of sand to a golf ball, and many people recount their experience with this condition as one of the most painful.
In most cases, stones pass on their own through the ureter, but in some cases, medical intervention is required.
Peter also recently spoke about his weight loss, which has been a topic of discussion in recent years.
In a rare interview at the 'In Conversation With...' event with Sara Cox at The Lowry Theatre in Salford, he shared the challenges of body changes over the years.
When asked if he ever tried to lose weight, the comedian replied: “
Only in the first 48 years of my life. Yes, I eventually had to lose weight because you start thinking about your health and stuff like that, right?” “I tried many ways. Goodness, I even went to different weight loss groups. I was at Slimming World and WeightWatchers. I went through all of them.”
Peter has been delighting fans with his record-breaking performances since his return to the stage.
