Thomas Tuchel explained why Kane, Bellingham, and Foden will not play together.
Thomas Tuchel and the selection of players for the England national team
According to The Sun: England national team coach Thomas Tuchel stated that he cannot include Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Phil Foden in the starting lineup at the same time. Tuchel emphasized the need for Foden to either replace Bellingham in position No. 10 or take Kane's place as the striker if he plans to step on the field at the World Cup.
Tuchel also highlighted that some star footballers might be left out of the battle for a spot in the lineup.
“Phil needs to decide which position he wants to take in order to have a chance to play.”
With this approach, Tuchel aims to optimize the national team's roster, considering the strengths and weaknesses of the players.
This situation reflects the seriousness of preparing for the World Cup, where every decision made by the coach holds significant importance. With star talents participating in the qualifiers, the strategic choice of positions can greatly affect England's chances of success in the tournament.
