Chesterfield club owner Phil Kirk has passed away at the age of 59
According to The Sun: The League 2 team leader was diagnosed with inoperable cancer earlier this year.
Kirk had been moved to palliative care earlier this month and sadly passed away.
Several EFL clubs have expressed their condolences to Chesterfield.
Chesterfield is in a period of mourning.
Meanwhile, many fans have also expressed their gratitude.
