"Northern Brigade": Northern European countries were offered to prepare a battalion for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the visit of Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Oleksandr Balanutsa to Norway, Northern European states were invited to join the "Northern Brigade" project. Each Northern European country has the opportunity to prepare and arm a battalion, the Ministry of Defense reported.
The Ukrainian delegation proposed to Norway to join the "Northern Brigade" project during a meeting with Administrative State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Defense Ann Mari Aanerud.
Also, during the Northern Defense Industry seminar from Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, they called for cooperation and investment in the Ukrainian defense industry.
"Defense companies and Northern European countries, by joining the "Northern Brigade" project, will have the opportunity to demonstrate the effectiveness of Northern European defense industry products on the real battlefield. Let's combine efforts for a joint victory,"said Oleksandr Balanutsa to the event participants.
The Ukrainian delegation also held a meeting with representatives of the defense industry companies. In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine delegation declared the need for increased assistance from partner countries.
Issues of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration and increased assistance within the framework of the Nansen program were discussed. Ann Mari Aanerud assured that Norway remains committed in its support for Ukraine.
