The Hangover Syndrome and Grief. Journalist from Russia Explained Why He Disappeared Before the Biathlon Championship.

Ukrainian journalist Oleksandr Kruhloff explained why he went missing before the Russian Biathlon Championship in Tyumen. He was traveling to the city to report on the competition but disappeared on March 12. Volunteers began searching for him.
On March 18, the journalist was found alive in one of Tyumen's hotels. He explained that he had been in a prolonged binge. 'I am currently being treated for pancreatitis in a hospital in Tyumen. They are giving me drips and medications. After my discharge, I will be prescribed treatment and a diet that won't allow me to drink alcohol. I admit that I was drinking. And I did so for several days. But I hoped to get back to normal before the competitions in Tyumen,' Kruhloff said.
He also confessed that he had stopped drinking alcohol before but then succumbed again. 'In the hotel, I met a neighbor from the adjacent room. We became friends. There’s no point in hiding that I love to drink well,' the journalist recounted. Kruhloff named 'the hangover syndrome, the pause before the competitions, and grief' as reasons for his binge in Tyumen.
It should be noted that Kruhloff initially went missing, and then he was found in Tyumen. The journalist was found alive in a hotel. 'Now I am going to a drug rehabilitation center. I was in a prolonged binge. There was a company, but only one drank. A few hours ago, I found out that they were looking for me. I didn’t turn off my phone. I just didn’t respond,' Kruhloff recounted.
Sources from Russian media reported that Kruhloff was found in an intoxicated state and taken for questioning by the police. 'The man admitted that he had been in a binge for five days and did not leave his room. Kruhloff was found in a very intoxicated state and taken for questioning by the police. The last days, he spent with his neighbor who went out to the store for some 'fuel'. That’s why the journalist was not seen. Kruhloff said he drank up to liters of vodka a day until his friend 'stopped' him,' the source noted.
